CHARLY´S MIRROR
This is the story of Charly,
a rabbit that spent a lot of time in the forest. He lived with his mother and
grew up according to his environment: his mother, his house and nature, that's
why Charly was a humble rabbit and always helped his mother, kept the house
clean and had a well-kept garden. Charly was a bit lonely, because there
weren't many neighbors to talk to and interact with and yet he had developed
many skills, he sang very beautifully, made crafts, but what he stood out most
was in the drawing. He drew flowers, landscapes and his mother, but something
would change in the forest routine, in a few days Charly would start school in
the city and was nervous about it, since all his classmates were of different
species.
When he started classes he met many animals
who at first glance were amazed by the appearance of Charly, because he had
very pretty, fluffy, soft hair and impressive colors, Charly also had big blue
eyes, which could reflect the rest. However, Charly was careful to show his
talents to others and they kept telling him, he was beautiful, ignoring his
talents a little.
Every day Charly's friends repeated how
well he looked at him, while he did not consider it as such an important thing,
but one day his teammates decided to give him a “unique mirror”, in which Charly
could be seen every day; when Charly arrived home, she uncovered the gift and
managed to see her figure, but it was not a normal mirror, this reflected how
others looked at him, which made Charly be impressed and since that day he was
so amazed that he left his abilities to a side and even almost did not attend
school to stay at home looking in the mirror; days went by and Charly began to
neglect his values, his study, his mother and his friends, he thought that no
one was worth seeing.
That was the beginning of an egocentric,
arrogant, apathetic and superficial Charly, he no longer drew, did not help at
home and did not listen to his mother and as the days went by he became bored
for others and nobody wanted to approach him because they considered him to be
a rabbit without feelings for others; Charly's obsession with his mirror was
growing and he became addicted to looking at himself; but one day by clueless
the mirror fell and broke completely. It was there that he knew that the
reality was different, there was not that Charly that the others created and
neither were they.
He felt alone but this time
it was a different loneliness, he felt rejected by society and by himself, it
was then that he took his pencil and began to draw and express his emotions
through drawing, a beautiful work of art, “a his mother and friends ” who
really loved him, that was what was inside his heart, that was what he lacked.
When his mother discovered the drawing he recognized that this was the Charly
he loved, and from that moment everyone began to see the talents of Charly,
someone who had feelings.
Finally Charly redraw the usual and his
friends looked at him in wonder because his talent was unique, while he loved
his appearance and felt that it was a beautiful combination, there is nothing
like having a cute appearance and a gleaming heart full of values, It inspires
us to create amazing things and socialize in an honest way with others. His
friends were also sorry to have given Charly the mirror because they had made
him different.
The
teaching that leaves us is that we should not be superficial, nor act to please
the rest of the world, we must always keep our essence above all things.
